My interests as an artist for the last few years have centred around images created through combining forms and textures, surfaces and reflections through print.
The images are drawn from experiences of my everyday life combined with memories re-discovered. I am particularly interested in the inter-play of natural light and reflections occurring in everyday urban environments. Momentary glimpses of light and form, which combine with solid surfaces, placed or produced through human presence to create natural projections fragile and temporarily suspended.
The process of print for me is integral to the piece itself. The layers of image, which make up the pieces, are often created using different print processes and careful consideration is made to the surfaces they are printed on. The materials I use inform the pieces as they evolve.
These encounters remind us to observe our changing environment when we so often pass through without looking.
